The Triduum: One Big Liturgy over Three Days!

Come celebrate the Holy Week Triduum with us... one big liturgy celebrated over three days~

  • Holy Thursday, March 28th at 7 PM: Mass of the Lord's Supper. We gather to celebrate the institution of the Holy Eucharist at the "Last Supper" and as Jesus did for his disciples, we wash one another's feet in an act of humility. (wear white)

  • Good Friday, March 29th at Noon: Celebration of the Lord's Passion. We gather to hear the story of our Lord's passion and death as recounted in the Gospel of John. We kneel before the cross and lay our burdens at the foot of Jesus. We remember that "he was wounded for our transgressions..." (Isaiah 53:5). Although this is the one day of the year when no Mass is celebrated, Communion will be served. (wear red)

  • Holy Saturday, March 30th at 8 PM: The Great Easter Vigil. We gather at night around a fire. We hear the stories from Hebrew Scriptures of how our ancestors met the One, True God and how they, and we have been called and delivered to be God's own people. We light up the darkness with a new pascal candle. We celebrate the resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We witness the baptism of a new member of our community. It is the most wonderful of liturgies with light, music, water and oil. It is the Mother of all Vigils! (wear white)

The annual International Rosary is an opportunity to pray the rosary as a Community while hearing portions of the Rosary in other languages, including French, Spanish, German, Latin, Tagalog, IIcano, Portuguese, Polish, etc. The children from our Religious Education program, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, participate with their family members, helping us to meditate on the prayerful mysteries of our Lord and His mother Mary. This event is timed near the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, and serves as a beautiful reminder to us all that we are united in prayer at all times with the faithful around the world.

Remembering the Faithful Departed

On Nov 2, the Feast of All Souls, we remember those who have gone before us to be with the Lord in heaven. This feast dates back to 988 in our church history. During the mass, we will be offered the opportunity to bring forward a photo, image or symbol of someone we love who has passed into the next life. This is a way we can communally honor our deceased friends and family. It’s also a time to finally put to rest conflicts that have gone unresolved. Let the Holy Spirit release you and bring you comfort and healing.

This will be the only Mass on November 2, 2022.

Lenten Night Prayer

The Liturgy of the Hours, also known as the Divine Office or the Work of God (Opus Dei), is the daily prayer of the Church, marking the hours of each day and sanctifying the day with prayer. The Hours are a meditative dialogue on the mystery of Christ, using scripture and prayer. At times the dialogue is between the Church or individual soul and God; at times it is a dialogue among the members of the Church; and at times it is even between the Church and the world. At the end of each day we conclude this Divine Office with Night Prayer. We invite you to join us throughout Lent as we end our day with prayer and reflections from a variety of voices from the Nativity of Our Lady Family.

Lenten Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross or Via Crucis, commemorate Jesus’s passion and death on the cross. There are 14 stations that each depict a moment on his journey to Calvary, usually through sacred art, prayers, and reflections. The practice began as pious pilgrims traced his path through Jerusalem on the Via Dolorosa. In 1980 Father Jim Nisbet created a series of reflections accompanied by original art pieces for meditation. We invite you to join us for this contemplative evening.
